Vodafone has been present in Luxembourg since 1999. Luxembourg-based Vodafone Procurement Company was founded in 2008 and manages most of the communications technology company’s spending with suppliers worldwide. The country also hosts its global roaming hub, Vodafone Roaming Services, and Tomorrow Street, an innovation accelerator managed in partnership with the Technoport incubator. The local Vodafone team includes people from over 60 different countries whose diversity is key to the company’s success.

Expanding logistics capacities

The centre organises the global, physical supply chain for Vodafone’s network equipment through a digital control tower that helps optimise the use of stocks and stimulates the reuse of local and global network elements in order to promote a circular economy approach.

The new pan-European logistics platform will consolidate Vodafone’s logistics operations for mobile and fixed network equipment. Taking advantage of Luxembourg’s central geographical location and its advantages for the logistics sector, Vodafone aims to consolidate most of its stocks in a connected, sustainable logistics centre covering 29,000 m2. The centre will distribute equipment to the company’s other European entities. The activities of this innovative and highly automated logistics centre should begin at the end of 2024.

He also underlined the importance of Vodafone’s initiative to integrate the latest smart, green and sustainable technologies into the design of its new facilities.
