Finding smart mobility solutions, which make it possible to move around the city in a way that is both efficient and environmentally friendly, is a priority in Luxembourg. vel’OH, a system of self-service bikes available all over the city, was introduced in 2008 and quickly proved to be a great success. At the end of 2018, the previous fleet was replaced with bikes that are 100% electric and make it easy to ride up the hills and down the valleys that make up the capital.

900 electric bikes can be picked up and left at around 100 different stations around the city. The bikes are available 24/7 and are charged to cover a distance of 30-40 km. Users can buy 1- or 3-day passes, ideal for a visit of a few days, or an annual season ticket. They can consult their account, check the availability of bikes at different stations and choose which bike they would like to use via the mobile app “vel’OH officiel”.
