Crossroads Magazine, the flagship publication of Luxembourg Trade & Invest, features aspects of the Luxembourg business ecosystem that interest innovative international companies looking to expand their activities in and to Europe.

A trusted and connected data economy

The first part of the 2024 edition focuses on the Luxembourg data economy. “Luxembourg is committed to nurturing an environment where companies can generate value from data in a manner that guarantees data protection and personal privacy,” says Mario Grotz, Director General for Industry, New Technologies and Research at the Ministry of the Economy, in his editorial. “Our objective is to put in place a fully integrated data value chain that combines Luxembourg’s datacentres, high-performance computer and national data exchange platform with our expertise in cybersecurity and our skills and talents in the fields of research, cloud computing and supercomputing.”

The magazine includes articles on topics such as cybersecurity, data-driven research, quantum key distribution, high-performance computing and cloud-based data solutions.

Sustainable composite materials

Crossroads Magazine also portrays the research on sustainable composite materials able to meet the changing requirements of tomorrow’s road, rail, space and aviation vehicles conducted by the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST). The LIST’s Sustainable Composites Material & Manufacturing (SCMM) Innovation Centre is presented, as well as its collaboration with two industrial partners.
