2020 Global Talent Competitiveness IndexNo country can be economically successful without a talented workforce with skills that match companies’ needs. Countries are today competing globally to create, attract and retain talent and seek to put economic and social policies in place that will facilitate this. The Global Talent Competitiveness Index has been created to provide quantitative information that will help them take informed decisions and design and implement better policies in areas such as education, employment and immigration.

Luxembourg ranks 8th in the 2020 edition of the index, which is topped by Switzerland, the United States and Singapore.

Attracting and retaining talent

Luxembourg’s high ranking is in particular due to its ability to attract and retain talent. The country ranks 2nd for talent attraction, mainly due to its ability to attract foreign business and talent. It also ranks 4th for talent retention, notably thanks to its world-class pension system and social protection.
